Amaarae has officially released her new album Black Star and dropped a music video for standout track “Fineshyt.”
Shot in Ghana, the visual follows a flirty, late-night connection that stretches into the morning after. In a statement, Amaarae described “Fineshyt” as the “bad ass play cousin” to Cher’s iconic “Believe,” citing her love for late-’90s dance anthems as inspiration.
The album, a follow-up to 2023’s Fountain Baby, also includes singles “S.M.O.” and “Girlie-Pop!” Last year, Amaarae released Roses Are Red, Tears Are Blue — A Fountain Baby Extended Play.
With Black Star, she’s doubling down on her Afropop-meets-club fusion and delivering visuals that match the energy.
